A new report predicts that by 2050, half of the world's population (around 4.8 billion people) will be short-sighted. The medical name for this is myopia (近視). It is also called nearsightedness.

When we have myopia, we can't see the things far away from us. It is true that more and more people have myopia. It's a bad situation. Give your dead batteries a new life. Recycle them!

Batteries (電池) are used to power clocks, computers, tools and more. However, your batteries have some serious power when their lives are over.

Why to recycle batteries:

Remember, batteries are harmful waste. This means we should properly throw them away. You may not think one little battery can cause that muchpollution.
