復合不定代詞

由some, every, no, any分別與one, thing和body組合而成的代詞, someone, something, somebody;everyone, everything, everybody;no one, nothing, nobody; anyone, anything, anybody

1、由every構成的不定代詞大多具有“復數”的含義, 但并不能因此而將其用作復數, 因為此類詞更強調個體, 使用時仍應以單數對待

Eg: Every student is trying their best to achieve high scores in the exam.

2、由no構成的不定代詞表示的是一種否定意義, 作主語時, 謂語動詞多用單數形式

Eg: Nothing is impossible if you put your heart in it.

英語語法重點與難點

1、 as…as…結構：你和湯姆是一樣好的孩子。

You’re a boy as good as Tom.=You’re as good a boy as Tom.

2、 (1)too…to與 so…that sb. can’t…的句型轉換：前者為簡單句，主語只有一個，而后者為復合句，主語有兩個，試比較：

The man was too angry to be able to speak.

The man was so angry that he wasn’t able to speak.

(2) too…to…與 not enough to句型的轉換：

He is too young to get married.=He is not old enough to get married.

The book is too difficult for me to read.=

The book is not easy enough for me to read.

3、 形容詞原級表示比較級含義：

約翰不象邁克那么苯。

John is not so stupid as Mike.

John is less stupid than Mike.

John is cleverer than Mike.

4、 用比較級表示最高級：約翰是班里最高的男生。

John is taller than any other boy in the class.

John is the tallest boy in the class.

5、 the more….. the more….表示“越……越……”:

The more books you read, the wider your knowledge is.

The more food you eat, the fatter you are.

相互代詞

表示相互關系的代詞叫做相互代詞。相互代詞有each other 和one another兩種形 式。在當代英語中, each other和one another沒有什么區別。相互代詞可在句中作賓語, 定語。作定語用時, 相互代詞用所有格形式。

We should learn from each other / one another. (作賓語)

Do you often write to each other / one another? (作賓語)

We often borrow each other's / one another's books. (作定語)

The students corrected each other's / one another's mistakes in their homework. (作定語)

批注：這類代詞的考查一般會在翻譯中出現較多, 學生只要能知道常見的一些短語的意思即可, 比如help with each other 互相幫助， learn from each other互相學習， understand each other互相理解。

情態動詞重點疑難

1.need和dare的用法

need和dare既可用作情態動詞，也可用作實義動詞。用作情態動詞時，主要用于否定句和疑問句。用作實義動詞時，可用于各種句式。

1.用作情態動詞

--Need I come? --Yes, you must. --我需要來嗎? --需要。

You needn′t telephone him now. 你現在不必打電話給他。

I don′t think you need worry. 我想你不必發愁。

She dare not go out alone at night. 她晚上不敢一個人出去。

How dare you say I′m unfair? 你竟敢說我不公平?

Not one of them dared mention this. 他們誰也不敢提這件事。

2.用作實義動詞

You don′t need to do it yourself. 你不必親自做這件事。

We need to tell them the news. 我們需要把這消息告訴他們。

We should dare to give our own opinion. 我們要敢于提出自己的觀點。

He did not dare (to) look up. 他不敢抬頭看。

I dare say he′ll come again. 我想他會再來的。 (cI dare say…為固定習語)

八、情態動詞幾組詞的辨異

1. can 和be able to

1)情態動詞can只有兩種時態形式，現在式can和過去式could，而be able to有多種時態形式。

Mary can play the piano. She has been able to play it since she was 5.

瑪麗會彈鋼琴。她五歲起就會彈了。

2)用在過去時中，could經常表示能夠做某事，事實上不一定去做，而was∕were able to則表示“過去做成了某事”。在否定句中兩者可通用。

He could swim across the English Channel. But he didn′t feel like it that day.

他能游過英吉利海峽，但那天他不想游。

Yesterday I was able to get home before the heavy rain. 昨天我在下大雨前趕到了家里。
